Armor Development: part 1

For a long term project I'm working on, there are three different 'main factions'.
One of the Moon.
One of the Sun
One of the Stars.

I want them each to have a different feel for their armor and regalia.
Here is the Ideas and starting of the faction of the "stars" (not their actual name)

I wanted them to have an almost eastern influence; Mongolian or something of a Byzantium feel.
The one below, is the one I'm the most happy with so far.

Just doodles to show process

One off comic: Lines only

Since I'm about done with the quick "one off comic", I decided to post a few 'lines only' images of the pages.

There's no:
  • inking (blacks) ok...some have it
  • color
  • dialogue.

so here it is, so you can see the 'before' and the after (coming soon)

Enjoy

Chimera development.

I'm working on a short 'one off' comic right now, and the story is based around a mythical monster. One that kiiiiinda gets the shaft when it comes to the headlines.

The Chimera!

When you think about it, it's a damn fun monster. Three heads, belching fire and flying around wreaking havoc.

I wanted to give it a lioness feel to most of it's body and still capture some malice.

Thoughts?

I'll post a link to the 'one off' ASAP! (still working on it!)

Doors.

Recently when designing/ drawing a citadel, I came across a small obstacle.
The doors.

Now, the citadel was in a state of ruin and mostly destroyed, so I could have just done some smashed tinder and debris. To me the details and style of a structure or it's architecture can help set a mood. Generic 'castle doors' wouldn't do for me, so I set out to design doors that fit the structure, which was sinister and cruel in nature....well, I'm hoping it looks that way.

There are three doors. Each a different 'layer' of the citadel. The further out ones (outer doors) are more protective and less ornamental. The further in, more decorative, and less of a real gate.

First door. Outer door. Meant to be protective and formidable.

Secondary door. Inner Gate door. More decorative, but still sturdy.
